Teaching and learning are everlasting components of life. Therefore, choosing the right techniques and acquiring on-spot skills are very important.

As a pre-service teacher, I'm more interested in teaching. The way teaching has evolved in the last couple of centuries is very inspiring. Now in our time, we have so many sources to use, both traditionally and technologically, and we are expected to use them effectively.

I asked gencraft.com about 21st-century learning and it replied with this:

Tablets, VR goggles, and students sitting like a little community are familiar to us in this century.

Now that the new generation is more prone to learning with technology than ever, teachers' usual teaching strategies are almost forced to change. They have to adapt to the recent technological advancements, combine their classes with them, and also not overdo it so it doesn't affect the class negatively. It is a work of balance, but we teachers are capable of it.

There are some things to consider when teaching in our time. To me, some of them are listed below as 2 categories.

A teacher

  • Understands this generation's learners

  • Is always in touch with the newest updates related to teaching

  • Never stops learning, improving, being creative

  • Integrates technology in their classes

  • Is open to teaching with new methods.

A learner

  • Is eager and open to learning with new methods

  • Creates individual materials to enhance themselves

  • Knows how to work individually and in groups, takes responsibilities

  • Critically handles new advancements in technology.

Of course, this topic is very broad. I hope that my summarization of this important subject is enough even as an introduction to the topic.

Have a wonderful day. See you all next time!
